Dr. Wesam Taha received the B.Sc. (Honors) and M.Sc. degrees from Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in 2013 and 2015, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada, in 2023, all in electrical engineering.
He is currently the Power Electronics Technical Lead with Advanced Innovation Americas, Schaeffler Motion Technologies USA, Auburn Hills, MI, USA. Before joining Schaeffler, he was a Research Engineer at Khalifa University from 2016 to 2019 and a Graduate Research Assistant at the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre, McMaster University, from 2019 to 2023. Since 2015, he participated in and led industry-sponsored Research and Development projects in the automotive and oil and gas industries. He is the author/co-author of over 30 journal and conference papers and the inventor/co-inventor of several patent applications.
Dr. Taha is a Senior Member of IEEE and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He was the elected 2023 Chair of the IEEE Hamilton Section, where he received the IEEE Membership Outstanding Member Retention Performance Award. He was also a recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including merit-based scholarships and fellowships.
