Overview

Dr. Karen Kidd is an internationally-renown researcher in water pollution and its effects on fish and other aquatic life, and has been a Professor and the Jarislowsky Chair of Environment and Health at McMaster since 2017. Before that, she was a Canada Research Chair in the Chemical Contamination of Food Webs at the University of New Brunswick (2004-17) and a Research Scientist with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (1998-2004). Dr. Kidd has a PhD in ecotoxicology from the University of Alberta (1996) and a BSc in environmental toxicology from the University of Guelph (1991).
