Ali Bhagat is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and at the Wilson College of Leadership and Civic Engagement. He is broadly a scholar of International Political Economy focusing on migration and refugee policy. He is the author of the book Governing the Displaced: Race and Ambivalence in Global Capitalism (Cornell Press 2024) and publishes widely in journals such as Review of International Political Economy, New Political Economy, and Economy and Space to name a few. Dr Bhagat also writes for media outlets such as the Globe & Mail, Toronto Star and The Conversation and has appeared on CBC News - The National, CTV News, and CBC Radio.
