Lori Whitehead
Professor Emeritus, Medicine

Dr. Whitehead is a clinical professor of medicine at McMaster University. She graduated from the University of Toronto in 1985, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Respirology in Hamilton in 1992. Between 2005 and 2014, she was the Program Director for the McMaster Respirology Residency Training Program. Dr. Whitehead is Chair for the Specialty Committee in Respirology at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is Past President of the Hamilton Academy of Medicine and serves as a delegate to council for the Ontario Medical Association and Canadian Medical Association.She is the Chair of the National Senior Respiratory Fellows Symposium, an annual event supported by the Canadian Thoracic Society. Dr. Whitehead is the Medical Lead for the Regional Tuberculosis Clinic based at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton. Her clinical areas of interest include tuberculosis, lung cancer and pediatric asthma. Throughout her career, Dr. Whitehead has received many awards for her academic, teaching, clinical and community activities.
