Error-Recovery Service for the IEEE 802.11b Protocol
Abstract
A service that allows the current IEEE 802.11b MAC protocol to perform a dynamic packet sizing and a forward error correction is proposed. This new service, called error recover service medium-access control (ERSMAC), is designed to allow the deployment of the IEEE 802.11b protocol in industrial environments characterized by high bit-error-rate (BER) and fast time variation.
