Ar 2p and Ar 1s Spectroscopy of Free Argon Clusters

Ar(2p) and Ar(1s) total electron yield and total ion yield spectra of supersonic beams of Ar clusters with average size between 1 and 750 atoms are reported. The near edge features evolve with increasing cluster size from atomic-like Rydberg states to solid-like excitonic states. EXAFS in the Ar(2p) and Ar(1s) continua of Ar clusters is analysed.
