Clinical Studies: Evidence for Intervention with Specific Antiplatelet Drugs in Arterial Thromboembolism
Abstract
There is conclusive evidence that aspirin is beneficial in patients with unstable angina and that a combination of preoperative dipyridamole with post-operative aspirin is beneficial after coronary artery bypass. The evidence for a beneficial effect of aspirin after myocardial infarction is consistent but inconclusive. The evidence for the use of aspirin alone following coronary bypass is inconclusive.
