Abstract

BACKGROUND: Regular pain assessment can lead to decreased incidence of pain and shorter durations of mechanical ventilation and stays in the intensive care unit. OBJECTIVES: To document knowledge and perceptions of pain assessment and management practices among Canadian intensive care unit nurses.
