Thermal effects in co-extrusion of polymer melts

Abstract

The flow of multiple layers of polymer melts in extrusion dies is complicated by the rheology of the materials, the die geometry and thermal effects. This study examines the role of thermal effects through 3-D computer modeling of steady-state multilayer flows.
