Abstract

OBJECTIVES: Hepatic overproduction of apolipoprotein B (apoB)-containing lipoproteins appears to be a common cause of hyperlipoproteinemia in humans. Patients with overproduction states secrete denser cholesterol ester-rich lipoprotein particles which are highly atherogenic.
