Magnetism and superconductivity of high-Tc cuprates (La,Eu,Sr)2CuO4

Abstract

We have investigated magnetism and superconductivity of La2−x−yEuySrxCuO4 (y=0.1), around the hole concentration x∼18. A static magnetic order was observed with a full volume fraction at x=0.12. At the optimum doping x=0.15, the magnetic volume fraction decreased to about half, leaving the remaining volume fraction non-magnetic down to 2K. The μSR line shape in x=0.12 was best accounted with the stripe model. In both hole concentrations, superconductivity was identified in susceptibility as the shielding effect. There was a competition between static magnetism and superconductivity, as the transition temperatures suggest.
