The 27 lock-in in erbium

Abstract

It is shown that a magnetic field along the c axis stabilises the 27 lock-in in erbium substantially. A phase diagram of the lock-in region is given. Results are also presented for the variation of the Néel temperature and of the wave vector at the Néel temperature with field.
