Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To quantify the absolute risks of adverse fetal outcomes and maternal mortality following nonobstetric abdominopelvic surgery in pregnancy. SUMMARY BACKGROUND DATA: Surgery is often necessary in pregnancy, but absolute measures of risk required to guide perioperative management are lacking.
