A review of dissolutional rills in limestone and other soluble rocks

Abstract

Solutional rills are classified and discussed by size, form and supposed mode of origin. The emphasis is on hydraulics of flow, the basic distinction being between channels parallel to the direction of low (the most common) and those which are transverse to flow (transverse ripples and fluted scallops). In nature few rills have had a simple history. Many must be classifed as polygenetic forms. -from Authors
