The art of working together: Developing a sustainable model for arts Informed research as social practice

Project summary

The art of working together: Developing a sustainable model for arts informed research as social practice aims to strengthen the capacity of Centre[3] for Artistic and Social Practice (Centre[3]) to support community-based arts-informed research as social practice by developing a model for sustainable partnerships. The proposed research will undertake "case studies" of three existing academic/community partnerships involving Centre[3]: 1) Direct[Message], which seeks to support the engagement of older adults in the arts through digital technology; 2) YouthCan online platform, which supports the employability of young people between 15-29 years; and 3) Shift, which provides soft skills training for employability through an arts-informed approach. A Developmental Evaluation model will be utilized to gain a deeper understanding of core practices that create more equal and sustainable partnerships, by supporting the needs of different organizational contexts/perspectives.
