An Inexact Fuzzy Model for Electric Power Generation Systems Planning

Abstract

In this study, a lower-side attainment values based inexact fuzzy programming (LA-IFP) approach is developed for supporting regional electric power generation systems (REPGS) planning under uncertainties. It can tackle uncertainties expressed as intervals, fuzzy sets as well as their combination in REPGS planning problems. Fuzzy relationships in the model can be transformed into corresponding deterministic ones without additional constraints. A hypothetical but representative REPGS is adopted to demonstrate its applicability. Reasonable energy supply, electricity generation, capacity expansion and emission mitigation plans are generated with minimized system costs.
