Error probabilities in optical transmission systems based on DPSK and OOK

Abstract

Variance of nonlinear phase noise in dispersion-managed systems based on differential phase-shift keying is examined analytically. Error probabilities for systems based on DPSK and OOK formats are evaluated and compared. © 2006 Optical Society of America.
