Exploring the Dynamics of Intimate Partner Violence amongst Hamilton's Disapora

Project summary

This project was designed to advance knowledge of gender-based oppression, specifically intimate partner violence (IPV), for women immigrants to Hamilton (WIH) by centering their lived reality through qualitative research. The primary goal is to centre WIH experiences of IPV to develop interventions that incorporate their unique reality. To do so, we are looking to understand how women make sense of their realities and how service providers engage with newcomers.
