Swyer-James syndrome with pulmonary vein hypoplasia detected by multislice CT

Abstract

Swyer James syndrome is a rare and complex disease characterized by hyperlucency of one lung, lobe, or part of a lobe, due the diminished pulmonary vascular supply and alveolar overdistension. This syndrome seems to be an acquired disease that develops after viral bronchiolitis and/or viral pneumonia in early childhood.
