Computation of residual stress distribution in tubes due to a rolled joint forming process
Abstract
Determining residual stresses in rolled joint connections is important in ensuring reliable performance of the components involved. A 3-D finite element model is developed to compute the residual stress distribution by simulating the rolling process used to form the joint.
