Evaluation of Heat Transfer Coefficients in Water Spray Quenching Systems

Heat transfer coefficients in quenching process have been determined by quenching 1045 steel specimens instrumented with thermocouples. From the experimentally measured temperature profile, the relationship between the surface heat-transfer coefficient and surface temperature has been obtained.
