STRAIN-ENHANCED GRAIN GROWTH DURING SUPERPLASTIC DEFORMATION.
Abstract
Superplastic flow is generally accompanied by grain growth, at a rate which greatly exceeds that in the absence of deformation. In this paper, experimental data related to this phenomenon are discussed, and some simple models are presented. These account for the behaviour at relatively low strain rates. However, the grain growth behaviour at strain rates corresponding to commercial superplastic forming processes, has yet to be adequately modelled.
