High-sensitivity transient spectroscopy using tunable diode lasers.
Abstract
A technique for monitoring transient IR absorptions with lead-salt diode lasers (TDLs) is described. The technique, essentially a high-frequency sweep integration method, is easy to implement, gives sensitivities limited by detector noise at the 10-5 level of absorbance, and has a response time of a few microseconds. The experimental setup and procedure are described, and oscilloscope traces are shown and discussed.
