Topography-based VS-IMM estimator for large-scale ground target tracking

Abstract

The application of an interacting multiple model (IMM) estimator in solving various target tracking problems was discussed. The structure of the estimator for every target is individually modified based on the known topography of the surveillance region. The estimator was used to handle a large-scale air traffic surveillance problem consisting of nearly a thousand targets and multiple sensors. It was found that the estimator is capable of …
