Performance evaluation of a 2/2 × m/n logic for track formation in clutter using a BI-band imaging sensor

Abstract

A performance evaluation technique which is an extension of cascaded logic track formation for bi-band imaging sensors was presented. It was observed that the proposed evaluation technique ignored the need for extensive simulations. The applicability of the technique in selecting logic parameters based on the desired true track detection and false track acceptance probabilities was also analyzed. The results show that for a given bi-band cascaded logic, the probability of true track acceptance could be improved by choosing the OR fusion rule.
