Characterization of Gel-filled membranes for plasma protein fractionation

Abstract

The effectiveness of gel-filled (GF) membranes in plasma protein fractionation was studied. Permeate flux and plasma protein experiments were conducted on the GF membrane of carboxylic acid functionality, fitted on a stirred cell. The GF membrane results showed a considerably greater change in apparent sieving coefficients of the proteins with change in pH.
