Abstract

This paper focuses on the design of entropy-constrained successively refinable unrestricted polar quantizer (EC-SRUPQ) for bivariate circularly symmetric sources. The proposed algorithm is globally optimal under the constraint that the magnitude quantizers’ thresholds are confined to finite sets.
