Dual-Ring-Assisted MZI Silicon Modulator for Enhanced Intensity Modulation

Abstract

We propose a high-speed dual-ring-assisted Mach-Zehnder interferometer silicon modulator. The phase shift between the interferometer arms is controlled by two over-coupled ring resonators with a push-pull signal, leading to an enhanced intensity modulation.
