abstract

  • As most children with cerebral palsy (CP) survive into adulthood, the condition and its co-morbidities should be managed with a developmental and life-long perspective in the context of the family. A habilitation program for children with CP goes beyond treating the motor impairments. The themes ''Family, Function and Fitness'' are discussed to high-light some of the issues and challenges of the field of rehabilitation therapy for children with CP. This review is not intended to be exhaustive, but papers were selected that highlight some of the medical issues and challenges of the field of rehabilitation for children, adolescents and adults with CP.
