Assistant Professor (Part-Time), Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact

Dr. Jeremy Y. Ng, MSc, PhD, is an experienced health research methodologist, having authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, with an interest in evaluating and improving research practices applicable across all areas of medicine. Dr. Ng's work aims to assess, evaluate, and improve the quality of evidence in health research, and improve the overall integrity and impact of published studies. Dr. Ng’s research interests include: open science; meta-research; publication science; research ethics, integrity, and misconduct; bibliometrics; artificial intelligence; and traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine. In addition to Dr. Ng's appointment at McMaster University, Dr. Ng is a Scientist at the Institute of General Practice and Interprofessional Care, University Hospital Tübingen & Robert Bosch Center for Integrative Medicine and Health in Stuttgart, Germany, as well as an Associate Professor (Adjunct) at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Health, University of Technology Sydney in Sydney, Australia. Dr. Ng was an invited expert at a World Health Organization (WHO) technical meeting on traditional medicine and artificial intelligence, and was subsequently invited to serve as a current member of the WHO Topic Group on Traditional Medicine under the Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence for Health. Dr. Ng serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Complementary and Integrative Medicine and sits on the editorial boards of >10 peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Ng's research has been featured in Nature, Scientific American, Discover Magazine, Psychology Today, and PsychCentral, among other prominent media outlets.
