Substance P-like immunoreactivity is reduced in Alzheimer's disease cerebral cortex.

Substance P is an undecapeptide which has been found in human cortical neurons. We measured concentrations of this peptide in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and control postmortem tissue by radioimmunoassay.
