The study of spontaneous GH secretion after 36‐h fasting distinguishes between GH‐deficient and normal adults

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Within an appropriate clinical context, GH deficiency (GHD) in adults can only be diagnosed biochemically by provocative testing. The evaluation of IGF-I, IGFBP-3 and even of spontaneous GH secretion do not establish the diagnosis of adult GHD.
