The structure of nonpremixed methyl chloride and methyl chloride/methane air flames near extinction

Abstract

Experimental measurements are conducted to determine the structure of counterflow halogenated flames near extinction. The flames are simulated using a detailed chemical kinetic mechanism. Two flames are studied, one burning methyl chloride, and the other an equimolar mixture of methane and methyl chloride as fuel.
