Dynamics of impinging nanoscale jets

Abstract

We use molecular dynamics simulations to describe the collision of two opposed liquid argon nanojets and examine the subsequent stagnation flow. The streamwise and transverse velocity profiles in the proximity of stagnation point are in agreement with macroscale continuum relations u∗=αx∗, v∗=−αy∗ for impinging laminar streams.
