Front Cover: Lanthanide‐FRET Molecular Beacons for microRNA Biosensing, Logic Operations, and Physical Unclonable Functions (Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. 36/2023)

Abstract

The Front Cover shows a DNA molecular beacon, in which terbium and europium FRET donors are combined with different dye and quenching acceptors to realize rapid and multiplexed microRNA diagnostic assays with sub‐nanomolar detection limits, simplified molecular logic devices (NOR, OR, NAND, AND, XNOR, XOR, IMPLEMENT, and INHIBIT), and biophotonic physical unclonable functions with more than 108 challenge‐response pairs for improved security identification and authentication via time‐gated FRET analysis. Combining lanthanides, nucleic acid molecular beacons, and time‐gated FRET is exceptionally versatile for advanced biophotonic applications.
