Sub 20 nm Upconversion Photosensitizers for Near‐Infrared Photodynamic Theranostics (Adv. Funct. Mater. 1/2025)

Abstract

Photodynamic Theranostics In article number 2410077, Clément Cabanetos, Niko Hildebrandt, and co‐workers demonstrate efficient singlet oxygen production by heavy‐metal free organic photosensitizers functionalized to the surface of upconversion nanoparticles. The sub‐20 nm nanophotosensitizers can be excited in the NIR (808 and 980 nm) and used for simultaneous imaging and cancer cell destruction.
