Mouse transverse aortic constriction (TAC) and TAC hemodynamic assessment
Abstract
In the mouse species the transverse aortic constriction (TAC) is a commonly used experimental model for pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy. Described closed chest approach could be used to mimic model of cardiac hypertrophy while the hemodynamic assessment using invasive pressure-volume catheterization during the time course of its progression might be simple but advantageous system to assess the development of heart failure.
