FLUID FLOW AND REACTION KINETICS OF TANK DEGASSING
Abstract
The kinetics of this process are slow compared to the more prevalent RH degassing process, providing the impetus for this work. There are several aspects to this work: water and mathematical models of the fluid flow in the ladle; simulation of the decarburization in water models; pilot-plant studies of the decarburization kinetics; and mathematical models incorporating each reaction site.
