Water modeling of vacuum decarburization in a ladle

Abstract

Decarburization and top injection of oxidizing gases in a tank degasser have been modeled with CO2 desorption from, and absorption to an aqueous solution. The mass transfer coefficients for the top surface, and bubbles were obtained. The effects of freeboard pressure and top lancing were examined.
