It has been proposed that.bubbling in a tundish could remove small inclusions. A cold modelling study ofinclusion removal has demonstrated that fine particles can be readily removed from a tundish fluid and that this removal is sensitive to fluid depth, casting rate. gas flowrate· and bubbler position. A mathematical model has been developed to predict the effect of the parameters on inclusion removal.
