Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura: Mechanism for Effectiveness of Plasmapheresis
Abstract
Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a rare but serious illness of unknown etiology. Treatment by plasmapheresis has been reported to be effective but the mechanism for benefit is unknown.
