ChemInform Abstract: FXeOIOF4 and Xe(OIOF4)2: Preparation and Study by 129Xe and 19F NMR Spectroscopy and Raman Spectroscopy and NMR Characterization of LXeOIOF4 (L: ‐OTeF5, ‐OSO2F).

Abstract The 129Xe and 19 F NMR results obtained for solutions containing varying amounts of IO 2 F 3 and XeF 2 in SO 2 ClF, CFCl 3 , and BrF 5 solvents show that IO 2 F 3 inserts into the Xe‐F bond of XeF 2 to yield the pseudooctahedral cis‐ and trans‐OIF4O oxygen bonded Xe(II)‐derivatives (I)‐(V); their relative amounts depend on both temp. and solvent polarity.
