ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Physical Properties of the Gd3BiO3 and Gd8Bi3O8 Phases.

Abstract Since Gd 3 BiO 3 (I) is only observed as a minor impurity, Gd 8 Bi 3 O 8 (II) is prepared by solid state reaction of a 1:1 molar mixture of GdBi and Gd 2 O 3 (Ta ampoules in Mo susceptor under vacuum, 1300 °C, 24 h).
