Abstract

Background: Malaria is a major global public health issue that disproportionately affects pregnant women in sub-Saharan Africa. The World Health Organization recommends intermittent preventive treatment with sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine (IPTp-SP) for its control. Despite its proven efficacy, drug uptake remains low.
