Abstract
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a life-limiting neuromuscular disorder characterized by muscle weakness and wasting. Previous proof-of-concept studies demonstrate that the dystrophic phenotype can be mitigated with the pharmacological stimulation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK).
