Abstract
In this chapter, some historical comments are made about the developments on conventional censoring schemes, viz., Type-I and Type-II censoring schemes. Then, formal definitions and some basic properties are provided for data obtained from both these censoring schemes, as well as a comparison of their expected termination times.
