Synthesis and ready metallation of (η-benzene)-(η-pentafluorobenzene)chromium

Abstract

[(C6H6)Cr(C6F5H)], prepared by metal atom cocondensation, is readily lithiated at –78 °C and converted into [(C6H6)Cr(C6F5X)], where X is SiMe3, CO2Li, CMe2OH, (η-C5H5)Fe(CO)2, or (η-C5H5)Fe(η-C5H4CHOH).
