Surface Plasmonic Properties of Wrinkled Gold Wires and Films

Abstract

In this study, the effect of wrinkled gold wires and films geometries on the surface plasmon response of these systems is studied. This investigation is conducted using electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) to map surface plasmon activities with high spatial and energy resolution. Metallic nanoparticle boundary element method (MNPBEM) simulations and polarization modulation infrared (PM-IR) microscopy are utilized as complementary methods. …
