Fatty acid binding protein 3 is associated with peripheral arterial disease
Abstract
BACKGROUND: Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) affects more than 150 million people worldwide and is associated with high rates of lower extremity amputation, myocardial infarction, stroke and death. Fatty acid binding protein 3 (FABP3) is released into circulation in patients with skeletal muscle injury.
