POLYMERIC COATINGS.

The use of polymeric coatings to prevent or retard corrosion is examined. The characteristics properties of polymer materials which make them suitable for protective coatings are outlined. The various polymeric coatings which are presently in use are described and methods for coating application are reviewed. The use of polymeric coatings at relatively moderate temperatures and under cyclic loading such as in corrosion-fatigue is also presented.
